A few months back, Valerie Stimac, travel blogger over at Valerie & Valise, invited me to contribute to Maps Not Apps, a series of city guides focusing on mindful, low key travel.
Though Montreal is most often known for its bar scene, restaurants and festivals, locals will tell you it’s easy to wind down among fantastic day spas, artisanal cafes, yoga and fitness studios, walking trails in and around the city, and more. For this guide, I was limited to a few choices, so I chose a sprinkling of different activities and locations for a well-rounded, introspective few days in the city: Cielo Yoga and Fitness Studios, Old Montreal, Notre-Dames-des-Neiges Cemetary, Auberge Beaux Reves and The Word Bookstore.
You can download the Maps Not Apps Montreal City Guide here.
Looking for more inspiration? I also recommend the following locations if you’re looking for relaxing and peaceful spots to enjoy in the city:
1 – The backyard terrace at Lumiere de Mile End
2 – Jarry Park
3 – Bota Bota
4 – Walking trails of Montreal
5 – Spa Scandinave
7 – De Farine et d’Eau Fraiche
8 – Lover’s Lane (aka Mount Royal Summit lookout)
